Have you taken a look at your sparkplugs? Did one crap out?

Even when not throwing a CEL, I've seen fuel milage gains just buy replacing the o2 sensor.

How many miles are on the car? I'm assuming a lot since it's 16 years old.

Depends on the sensor, but autozone carries them.

The more expensive ones can be $80 for honda, but most run $20-50

OxygenSensors.com or eBay universal sensors (usually ~$15-20).

Is it good to get a universal sensor?

I know some sensors are 4, 3, and 2 wire o2 sensors.

So I'm guessing the universal ones can be any?

I'm confused.
