Icon3 92 auto civic overheating!

hello honda tech, posting this thread up for an issuse my brothers been having with his car. his water pump blew and car over heated im guessing ( i wouldnt know for sure, i wasnt with him when it occured.) he got it replaced by some backyard mechanic and it still over heats. he changed the thermostat and some hoses cause it kept over heating. after that was done the car shakes pretty bad when starting up and when it heats up it doesnt wanna turn on. the car still over heats from time to time now but seems to run fine.

any tips or info would help, im honestly outta ideas..im thinking they might've ****ed up his timing or he couldve warped his head.

heres a video of it trying to be started up once its heated up and ran for a while.

Thread titles MUST summarize the tech problem so that members browsing titles can easily understand the problem without reading the post -- Title edited.

You may have the timing issue correct, at least that's how it sounds.

check the spark plugs. see if any are cleaner then the other. doyou have to refill the radiator alot? you may have a blown head gasket. i rarely see hondas have overheating issues with not having head gasket problems.
