I'm in the process of repairing the rust on my new 4dr I just picked up. I have it cut out very clean and am ready to weld in new patch panels. I know of rustrepair.com selling patch panels but here is my question. A friend of mine has a wrecked rust free 95 EX 2dr, would I be able to cut part of the quarter on it and weld it onto my 4dr? I know the rear bumpers are the same, but are the rear wheel arches and contours the same for me to be able to do this? TIA.

I just checked the body repair manual for coupe/sedan/hatch and couldn't find that spec.

If someone doesn't answer this for you by the time I get up to the storage yard next time, I've got a coupe and a sedan that I ought to be able to get some measurements off of, but it will be a week at least.

You might be able to just take a tape measure to your friend's car and either your sedan or another one like it. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Coupe and sedans use the same rear bumper and tail lights.

To the op i don't think the rear quarter will line up because of where the arch would meet the rear door on the sedan, I don't see it fitting. You have pics of how much of the area you cut out?

The 4dr does have the small strip where the rear door is, but I didn't really cut that far over. I basically cut out the area where the rear bumper bolts to, which has the same main shape as the coupe. I wish I had some pics, but my laptop crashed and can't load my pics up anytime soon and I have photography finals in a week!

I think it'll work if it's the rear section by the bumper. And if you're friend is a true friend he'd let you cut them out and try them any ways

Yea, that's pretty much what I'm doing, I'm pretty sure at this point they will work, I'll snap some pics of the progress tonight and make a thread once I get my computer back.
