I was wondering what makes the DX weigh ~70-80 more pounds than the VX/CX? I know there is differences in wheel weights, but what else is it?

I cut this from a previous thread.

DX has more tar and sound deadining stuff inside. While the 1992 CX and VX have only tar in the front 2 floorboards, the DX has it all over. On all floorboards have tar, the rear has tar, and so does the spare tire area. Yeah yeah tar ain't that heavy, but it weighs something.

Rear wiper and motor, side moldings, I'm still thinking...

The rear wiper and motor is kind of heavy too, and the side mildongs add some bulk. 70lbs? I'm still thinking...

Well, in 1992 NO CX models had the right mirror - it had to added by a dealer. I'm pretty sure that the VX might have been the same too.

The DX and Si were always the luxo/sporty models, so they got the mirror always.

1994-1995 they all came std with both mirrors.

My 1992 CX still had one mirror when I bought it, and still had NO A/C! Can you say A/C block-off button?

Here's another fun fact:

NONE of the hatches came with a radio standard - not even the Si! It was a dealer-added option. I know this is true for at least the 1992-1993 models. My fiancee's 1992 Si STILL had the O.E radio block-off and antenna block-off plates when she bought it in 1998!

VX comes with two mirrors and Si-looking interior, Vtec-E, and nice light wheels.

The 92-93 Civic EX-O came with the radio as Options, hence the O. Don't know if there was such a thing as a CX/DX/VX-O.

My 94 EX had a radio and was standard equip by then.

Anoterh thing is remeber there's NO 1992 EX coupes - just for reference

And ABS was an option in 1994-1995 for the EX/Si also.

Not all 92-95 dx's came with a mirror on the passanger side.
