92-95 DOHC ZC....whaddya know about it?
I've only seen this motor maybe once a year at the local importer- and they get containers every week or two.
Just picked up a DelSol and have a couple questions about the 92+ DOHC ZC since they've been showing up more often and they're in stock. This is just to get the car back on the road- I've had good experiences with 88-91 DOHC ZC's in my Crx's and hatches.
My concerns are:
1. which ECU would be preferable to use with it
2. and is there a USDM distributor counterpart

"ZC" does not/has never worked in the search engine.
Only the experienced swap guys on here will even know about this engine. It is rarely even seen and is not documented in these long years.
SOHC ZC's are o.k. for stock replacements.
Why did you buy a SOHC intake manifold? If you buy a SOHC ZC it will come with one- unless you get one with carbs.
I'm very experienced with swaps- but this motor has no info behind it. Honda-tech would be the place to hear from other experienced guys what they know.
What I know:
JDM non-VTEC DOHC ZC 1.6 liter 1992-1995
I estimate 130hp
Identical to the much praised (ZC vs. B16 debates!!!) 1988-1991 DOHC ZC except the motor mount is correct for EG and there is no CAS on the exhaust cam.
These seem to be flowing into the U.S. in larger numbers and are great swap candidates- drop right in - nice torquey motor perfect for street driven daily drivers all for around $500- out the door.
Who needs VTEC

rxse7n,
That would be great, thanks.
Just like putting JDM D15's into 10+ year old honda's -not everyone has a big budget to spend- as long as people have fun with the whole experience who can judge.
It's not a waste of money- it's money well spent.
B-swaps are overrated....my need for speed is fulfilled just fine with my 240sx w/SR swap.
