I have a CX model, and we all know the cluster only displays the temperature and gas meter. However I may get my hands on an EX/Si cluster to replace it solely because of the tach.

Out of curiosity, is it possible retrieving my original mileage (center) by simply just swapping the temperature (left) and gas meter (right) out in replace of the EX/Si setup? If so, how may one go about doing this? Any help or input is appreciated.

I've searched but haven't had much luck doing so. Forgive me if this issue has been previously covered etc.

It sure is. You simply pop clear plastic face off the cluster and remove the 3 screws on the back the hold the speedometer head in, installation is the reverse of removal.

You can swap the speedo into the new cluster, probably easier than swapping the tach and right segment.

You guys both hit the nail on the head. My mind was so concern of keeping the original mileage I got to thinking only inside the "box".

you can swap your old speedometer into the new cluster but you cant swap the outters from the ex/si into the old cluster.
