yeah I hear ya like the front end from the 96 and up are ugly but I just think that the new front end would look HOT on my 92 hatch. I might have to wait a yr or two til this some of this cars end up at wrecked auto auctions and find one totally F@*ked up from the back end and get it cheap.

The whole idea is to have a one of a kind 92 hatch different from all the rest, plus I seen this idea on a poster at my local speed shop and boy it looks better than the '08 car itself. I have an 93 LS swap on my hatch, so would you say why not buy an integra instead?? That's the beauty of doing swaps bro!!

yeah but an engine swap is for a completely different reason, i mean there are some visual aspects like the valve cover but other than that its purely for enhancing performance. you cant compare and front end swap with an engine swap

And your talking about a motor swap, thats CHEEEAAAP.
Your talking about putting a new front end on a car that MAY not even line up right.
I dont know. Go ahead and try it out if/when you get the chance. Maybe you'll be a trend setter!
Good luck mate!

i dont believe it will work because if you look the new civic coupe front end is much shorted then your eg front end.

The hood alone is 2/3rds the length compared to a 95. I would hate to see the out come if someone was to do this.

The 06+ hatch is a EDM developed model, its base chassis was derived from the Fit/Jazz - or as i have a read...
also the seats fold flat, like the fit, and i think the rear suspension is take from the fit...
If you want to do it... its going to be a challenge to get the lines right...
The EH/EG Hatches are more bubbly... the sides are flat... or angular...
also, i really don't like the FG2/FA2 fronts, they aren't really as nice as the original civic front end... aka the Acura CSX or JDM Civic...
Rather just go to Canada, buy a Acura CSX Type-S and call it a day.

Coupes and sedans have different front ends for '06 up btw. So you'll have to decide what you want. The coupe front won't even fit on the sedan and visa versa.
What you'll need to AT LEAST do:
- Buy '06+ hood, bumper, headlights, hood, fenders, core support, grille.
- Remove stock hood, bumper, headlights, hood, fenders, core support (cutting required).
- Keep stock fenders.
- Measure where you will need to cut all fenders.
- Cut stock fenders from top to bottom.
- Cut '06+ fenders from top to bottom.
- Weld new core support on car.
- Test fit all parts, drill mounting holes, manage to fit it all on.
It's going to be a pain in the ***. And the front end will probably be HUGE compared to your 5th gen front end. It's going to be wide up front and narrow the rest of the way. As someone else mentioned, your car's nose might be too long, which is going to cause more problems. I don't even know how you'd manage it then.
And god forbid you don't ever have to replace a panel.
This is going to look bad.
I wish someone would photoshop this so we can all see exactly how bad it would be. I'd like to at least see some photos of a 5th gen next to an 8th gen.

So you want to be totally different from everyone else, but you got the idea from another car that's already on a poster?

Honda-Tech's populous generally does not like front end conversions.

I would hope not. But you didn't mention how much more expensive it would be just to buy one and get it to the US.
It'd be more realistic to buy the panels and put them on a US car.
Spending maybe $2,000 for the front end parts, converting it onto the 5th gen, paint, etc. compared to spending $30,000 plus taxes and customs for an Acura CSX are worlds apart. They're just not really comparable. It's not an "either / or" for most people.

Re: (sageuvagony)
it wont fit, the front end is way to short on the new civics you can easily see this. maybe if you hacked of your rad support and some meat on the side and some how shifted your motor back bc there may be issues with the angle of the hood and then youd have to drill holes to get everything to fit bc i doubt theyll really line up.......waste of time for something that will look like complete and absolute poo

Re: (gsr eh)
The front end on the new civic s is sooo long, it would overhang the front wheels on a 95 way too much. you'd be better off trying to put the new accord front end on your civic.
and hey, don't shoot me for suggesting it, someone has probably already started that conversion somewhere.
