Re: 92-95 Civic dash swap (rodrez)
nice!!! no more passenger airbag.. . I have been thinking of doing this for a while because I have a spare 'blue' dash that I wanted to get re-wrapped but it will delete my passenger airbag.

Yeah, that's a major downside, is he got an older dash, so no passenger side airbag

Exactly. The guts, meaning the power window motors and power locks were swapped over from an EX as well.

haha, we learned as we went along! A manual would have been nice, but it was a learning experience none the less.

I'm not sure what the correct legal action is. I've heard that's illegal, but I don't know for sure.

Didn't know the process, but I carefully located the plugs for it, disconnected the battery and harness, and carefully removed the dash, I was scared of that thing.

Never saw that movie, but if something did happen with the airbag, I would have kicked Opi square in the nuts

Re: 92-95 Civic dash swap (Ivan)
i have a 95 cx and i put in a 93 Si dash (no pass airbag) Got the other black piece from other local places.... But.. With mine, the glovebox did not fit. Just straight up wouldnt work. I compared the two boxes and the old cx box was rounded off in the back corner near the center console.. the Si one was rectangle (im talking about the compartment here) And if you can believe this the Si one was lighter, whereas the cx one was really heavy, at least for a glove box it was heavy.
I attribute this to the lack of an airbag design in the Si's dash, but still it was a problem that i didnt expect to come across, as i havnt read about it. As of now i have no glovebox, at least the functionality of one. I had to cut the back for it to fit, and now it just clips in... but if you were to open it, the whole thing would fall off
maybe some of you other peeps had this issue?
Other than that it was a piece of cake. Took me about 4 hours and i put in black seatbelts and wired my EDFC for my tiens during that same time. As for the tilt wheel thing and the turn signal/ winshield washer guys... i jujst took em off. they are just slid in with clips and two plugs go on the left one and one plug is on the right...
