Default 92-95 civic auto trans work on 98 civic ex?

I am lookiing far and wide for an auto transmission right now. There seems to be a lot more 92-95 civic trannies weather it be dx or ex than 98 and up trannies. Remember these are auto trannies I'm talking about not your run of the mill manual 5 speeds which are up any alley I look.

Do the previous generation (92-95) auto trannies work with my 98 civic. I know they will bolt up and the mechanics are the same, but what about any electrical wiring changes if any? Are they compatable? TIA

No experience with a different year trans, but the sensors like stated above are the same the only difference between obd's are the sensors on the motor, and ecu, etc. etc.. Nothing really to do with the tranny. If you want you can cross refrence the trannys with your local junk yard or honda dealer.

The 92-95's have a kickdown cable from the TB and the 96-up have a TCM if I remember right, so no they will not interchange.

No he's wrong. The 96+ are completely controlled by the ECU while the 92-95 have only the basic electronic controls.

Ask the engine importers for one. They throw them in the trash all the time.
