89 CRX tranny into eg coupe?
my bud has a 89 CRX with the d15 5spd, he's planning on swapping for a b18c5.
can i take his transmission and swap into my automatic EG coupe, with the d16z6?
i don't see why it wouldn't work; they're both d-series engines.
i have a fairly good idea of what an auto-manual tranny swap entails, just wanted to see if this would work; if it does then i'd get a transmission for fairly cheap...i've been wanting to swap trannys for a while now.
out of curiousity, would his shift linkage/short shifter fit my civic?
thanks guys, keep up the good work here.

I'm not sure if everything'll fit, that's somebody elses beef. What i can tell you is the transmission will go on (bolt up) BUT you'll need what's called a "cable to hydro" conversion kit, because it's a hydro system...and that old *** 89 CRX is cable...but they're not expensive...ANYWAYS, so with the cable to hydro conversion kit, plus the fact it'll bolt right up anyways you'll all be peachy over there. As for the linkage, somebody else can tell you.
Oh, btw: In case you didn't know you'll need the manual ECU for your engine.
