Default 89-91 clutch in 92-95? compatability?

i have almost completed my turbo shopping list. but i need a clutch. boosting a d16z6 in my coupe.

i have a crx with an ACT clutch w/ HD pressure plate. i dont drive it so could i use this clutch in my z6?

i dont think its an '88 clutch, but its a '91 tranny if that matters.

it wont work because cable trannys and hydro trannys center shaft is different sizes.
Hydro is bigger than Cable.

not on a SOHC.......

90-2000 clutches and flywheels are the same, just a different throwout bearing for the 90-91.........

so is the 89-00 the same? i heard only the 88 was different. does this mean i could use it on my z6 no matter what just switch the clutch and flywheel all together?

I thought cable and hydro clutches are different. Shouldnt it be 92-00 the same? What made the 90-91 compatable since they had the same cable trans as the 88-89?

88 = 21 spline count, small flywheel surface, 190mm clutch
89 = 20 spline count, small flywheel surface, 200mm clutch
90-2000 = 20 spline count, large flywheel surface, 212mm clutch

ok gotcha. wasnt thinking about the spline matching with tranny imput shaft. so take it out and get the spline count.

but being that the tranny came out of a 91, thus having a 20 spline count, it should work, right?

(thats why i said 89-00 in the first place, they have the same spline count. would the surface change the compatability?)

Wow i never knew that, and i know better then to go head to head with you (or bense) on tranny info.
