i dont see a problem with it..a bigger T/B w/ a port matched intake mani is a good mod if you ask me..now just get the head ported..

i am under the impression that a 70mm is too big straight through, that hp will actually decrease throughout the powerband and it needs to be tapered to see good throttle response, but i think that is refering to a stock intake manifold. since yours is matched i would think that you will get better top end and peak hp #'s but loose alittle off the line and in the low end. but i could be wrong.
i realize that you didnt pay for it, but do you know where this work was done and how much it all cost?
and your avatar is awesome!

It depends on what motor, and the state of tune it is in..... if you are moving alot of air through the motor you will be just fine......
thanks

have u EVER seen a dyno sheet of a high output motor with JUST a TB upgrade? gains EVERYWHERE.

Re: 70mm t/b too big for n/a motor?? (euclid)
i will post my before and after i only have the after right now but i will go back to the dyno to get the before dyno, I made 5-10hp from 3000 rpm to 8500 rpm and about 5-10 ft/lbs also. I upgraded from a 65mm tb to a BBK 70mm and i made a huge difference.

I have an ericks racing 70mm tapered to 68 mm tb. I just port matched it to my skunk2 manifold on saturday. I'm thinking it's gonna be fine cause the difference wasn't as big as I thought it would be. I think you'll be fine.
Btw, the port match only cost me $20 bottle of liquor. Helps to have friend who are machinists

ok, calm down guys. you are right i have never seen a car lose power from a 70mm tb, but i also have not see one gain in person.
i guess this is wrong but i understood that going with a large tb like that affects the motor the same way that heavily porting the head out, that the engine would gain high end hp but actually lose tq down low, or am i wrong about that too
i am still learning just as i bet all of you are and im sure all of us make mistakes, sorry

its personal preferance..alot of people like 70mm or bigger and alot of people stay a little under 70mm..i am one that stays under 70mm because its not the size its how you use it

thanks, i miss read your quoted post and thought you were against me too, so its just the other guy
that's exactly my thoughts, that large of a tb on and other wise stock motor (except for cams) is just too big
if the plan is to do the im and head work in the future then fine keep the thing and you'll see gains all over when that work is done

you sjould be fine.....you will definetly need to get one that tapers to at least 68mm.
