6 puck clutch break in?
Ok, I just got my new clutch setup. It consists of an Exedy Pressure plate and a custom made 6 puck sprung disk(cerametallic I think) Would the normal break in procedure ,like for an organic disk clutch, apply to this type of clutch as well? Or is the procedure different?

No break-in for a ceramic type disc.
That's how it is on my ClutchNet 6-puck sprung hub disc anyways.

My 6 puck grabbed hard as *** when I first put it in. 1st gear was either on or off. I hated that because my car would either bog or stumble, or I feather it too easily and rev it too high. But after 600-800 miles of driving, it engages pretty smooth now. It still grabs hard as ****, as I can still chirp the tires shifting into 3rd (555R's).

any reason (one that makes sense) you went with a 6-puck racing clutch on a basically stock civic si?

I went with my current clutch setup because I wanted to. The pedal pressure is close to stock with the Exedy pressure plate, and the engagement isn't too harsh considering I opted for the 6 puck "SPRUNG HUB" disk. and I wanted a clutch that I wouldnt have to worry about not grabbing. I am also debating on reinstalling a nitrous setup again now that I have a new clutch. And it's also nice to know that I have a clutch that can handle alot of power, should I decide to go with a turbo kit or some other big power adder. Sensible enough for you?
Back to the original question. I'm hearing yes and no on the break in procedure. Which is it?

just go drive around aimlessly for 300-500 miles to be safe.....or just go pull out of the driveway, rev to 8k rpm and drop it.
but id drive about 300 miles before beating on it if it were in my car....despite if you have to or not.
