5th gen rear shocks in a 6th gen?
is it possible to put 5th gen rear shocks in a 6th gen? i heard that you can put washers on either side of the bushing to make the wider stance of the 5th gen strut fit the narrower bushing on a 6th gen lower control arm. Any tips?

thanks for the offer but somone on the board sold me struts for a 1996-2k but they ended up being koni yellows for 92-95. I know for sure the front will fit, but the backs are too wide. Any way to salvage this?

Yes the rears from a 5th gen will fit your 6th gen. When I bought my Tokico RAK coilover kit for my 5th gen civic it came with 2 spacers for each side to alow them to also fit on 6th gen civics.

Same here, so with those washers it will fit.

buy the rear lower control arm bushings from ES for a 5th gen. They'll have the wider collar (the metal insert in the middle of the bushing tha the bolt goes thru) and then you won't need spacers and you'll have poly bushings.

I ran 5th gen struts in my EK for a while with no problems, just put a couple washers in the bottom of each strut because the bushings are smaller than on 5th gens. It works just fine!

i did the exact opposite of all of the guys above.... i have 96+ coilovers(full) on my eg.. we shaved some metal off of the LCA so i guess you have to do the oppoosite.... add washers...
