5th gen exhaust making raspy noise?
I bought my car about a month ago, the guy mentioned that it didn't have a cat converter..So then I noticed the exhaust makes a really raspy noise, almost as if something is rattling at a very high pitch. At first I thought the pipes might be loose or something, but then someone suggested that it might be the lack of a cat converter..so I'm wondering, will a cat converter solve my problem? I need to get one anyways since running my car without one is ..well, not good.
To be a bit more descriptive, the noise is just plain down raspy. It also doesn't occur at very low acceleration, and when I surpass a certain acceleration it dissapears, and then comes back sometimes. I can record it if needed.
Also ,if a cat converther is the case, how do I go about installing then? Does it just join up somewhere along the pipes? I figure the pipes must be soldered because of the lack of cat convereter..is installing it something I can do myself?
Appreciate it guys, thanks in advance.

if your sure it is coming from the exhaust and not a bolt or the like rattling, then most likely it will solve your problems.
not having a cat usually makes all but a few exhausts sound like a buzzing bee if you punch it.
