5G Civics with 16x7 or 15x7 wheels
If any of you have 16x7 wheels (or 15x7) post your experiences with regards to rubbing issues (if any), any increase/decrease in mileage, and any noticeable differences (good or bad) in handling and acceleration.
I'm contemplating getting new wheels (I'm currently on 15x6.5). Thanks.
PS: Pics would be nice.

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
I have 16x7s with 215/40/R16 tires (Falken). I never noticed any rubbing problems. However, I got a crucial flat (three tears in the sidewall) on my right front. I couldn't put air in the tire because the valve stems are not standard size. Any air pump I used, there'd be no air going in. Time for new wheels!

I had the wheels on there since I bought the car, so I dunno if mileage has been an issue. It handles well though, IMO. Better than my old Accord

Re: 5G Civics with 16x7 or 15x7 wheels (Outrun)
I've run anywhere between 35 and 45 on my EG, depends on width of the rim and tire. Almost anything between 38 and 42 should be safe as long as the tire's a 205. My Toyo RA1's rubbed a bit on the inside (during autocrosses) but that's with 2" lowering and quite a bit of camber and it wasn't too bad.

If I do get 16x7 I will run a 205/40-16 tire. The car is lowered only an inch, with about -.8 degrees of camber.

i am ridiculously lowered on omni suspension and i rub on full turns, but im getting my fender rolled during the sidemarker install and the classic "i wish i was jdm advan sticker" and apparently i wont have any problems.
I am lowered on atec finalspeed 15X7s with 205/50/15 kuhmo mx's. Handles like a gem

the wheels on my car in the "rollin" pic in my sig are 17x7.5 with a 38 offset and 205-40-17 Yoks and they tuck front and rear (when I lower the sleeves) and don't rub in the rear, they don't rub in the front either but I took out my inner fender plastic and have pretty stiff spring rates... You should be fine with 16x7 and 205-40-16's with your drop either 38 or 42 should be ok.

those are my old Gunmetal Koseis, 15x7 42 Offset with Toyo RA1s in both pics, now I have White Koseis, 15x7 38 offset with new RA1s.

I'm running 16x7, 205/45. Doesnt rub, good traction. You could also run 205/40 series tires. Shouldn't rub either way. Pretty sure the offset is +42.

I have 15x6.5 with a 45mm offset, w/ 195/50/15 and I have a little rubbing issues when making U-Turns. Maybe because I'm lowered almost 4 inches. I say stick with 15's because its an all around size the higher you go the more rotation, better for top end but thats all.........

I run 205-40-16's. The Dunlop FM-901's I run now NEVER rub, but the BFG Euro T/A's I used to run DID rub on the hardest of turns. My car is also lowered 2.5".
I noticed that going from a 165-70-13 that the ride quality was MUCH better. Bumps were less harsh, and handleing was night & day. I don't know if you will notice much of a difference from you current tire size, but I'de bet you'll like the stiffer sidewall of a lower profile tire.
I've had no wear issues over the years. I have had wheel balance problems, but "Hubcentric Rings" from discount tire online took care of that.
Another plus for that tire size is that Falken's new RT-615 tire will be made in it. Look for those in a month or so.

I have 16'x7' Rota Circuit 10's on my car with a +45 offset and with 205/45/16 Toyo Proxes 4. There's no rubbing on the fenders as long as you keep your tires inflated. Just for precaution, you may want to roll in your fenders to prevent rubbing in the quarter panels.
