Default 4-lug itr conversion

Has anyone done this? Is the suspension setup worth it?

getting ready to throw a set of a CRX. It`s not a bad deal, my buddy just wanted it because he has 4x114.3 Blitz wheels to use. So for $400 he can use the wheels and got big brakes all around. He can be jdm, too haha

its worth it if you want to run wheels that dont come in, or you dont have in 4X100.

what? it comes with wheels and tires. Besides most 4 lug wheels are universal 4-lug pattern...

I think the 4 lug would do worth it only for hardcore preformance guys who want specialzed rims/slicks.

4-lug itr conversion ... Is the suspension setup worth it?
Actually this is a BRAKE setup, not a suspension setup. Yes it is worth it for most cars as far as a brake upgrade because of the big 11" rotors, bigger calipers+pads and larger than most civic's hubs for better brake fade resistance (heat related).

Yeah there alot.

But people who go from 5 to 4 lug are usually hardcore preformance people, you make the switch for slicks.

yes of course!
you can add 96 ITR 4 lug or 97+ ITR 5 lug setups without changing any shocks or control arms on a 92-01 civic or 94-01 teg!
it is really just a knuckle/caliper/rotor/brakeline/wheels swap.

I disagree some on that if you use the LCA's from the 4 lug ITR setup. In that case, it does come with the better bushings from Honda. This is, to some extent, what makes the ITR better on track than a lot of it's brethren. The bushings are better, but not as stiff as polyurethane so the ride is better. So, your woman will dig the ride and not jar her fillings out when you hit a bump, and you can enjoy the better on track handling

Shawn

With this "spindle outward" conversion, is any upgrading of master cylinder or proportioning valve required/reccomended/helpful in any way? Or will the stock Civic brake plumbing suffice?

Usually they are hardcore drag racers. I don't know too many ITR owners that race their car on a track with curves to switch to a smaller wheel. 15's are prolly of the best sizes to race on.

96 spec ITR brakes = GSR brakes.

They're JDM, which I guess is pretty cool...but you get brakes that are the same size as a GSR..and an extremely limited selection when it comes to wheels.

IMO, it'd be smarter to purchase some GSR brakes and a decent set of wheels.

If you get the JDM ITR brakes, in the end, you're only paying for status.

Is it possible to just swap hubs on the EK to the 96 ITR hubs to just use rims and not the brakes?

I would think it would be the other way around. If you are planning on running ITR size rotors and the 4x114 lug spacing, I think it would make more sense to put a redrilled 5 lug ITR rotor on the 96 ITR hub.
