4-1 headers vs. 4-2-1 headers
I am wondering which ones I would get a better use out of. I don't plan on getting a turbo anytime soon, and everyone says that 4-1 is better for high output/range while 4-2-1 is better for mid-range. What does this mean? Please advise. Thanks

Re: 4-1 headers vs. 4-2-1 headers (Ekco)
I'll give ya 2 reasons why 4-2-1 is better, performance aside:
1) service: If you have to drop the pan, removes the clutch access cover, remove the tranny, whatever, it's a lot easier to separate the 2 pieces than it is to separate the header from the head and guide it out the bottom between the radiator and motor.
2) clearance: That collector has got to hang REALLY low on the 4-1. If you dimple that collector, you're going to restrict it's flow a lot. You only have to smack it once to damage it.

Re: 4-1 headers vs. 4-2-1 headers (Ekco)
It just depends on what you plan on using your car for. The 4-2-1 will give you more midrange which is great for passing cars on the road. But the 4-1 will give you more top end pull, which is good if your motor is Vtec, cause you get more kick on the top. As far as clearance problems, I'm using a DC 4-1, and I have 15 inch rims with 205-50-15 tires, and I never scrape my header. Had the same ones for over a year now w/out any problems.

Re: 4-1 headers vs. 4-2-1 headers
4-2-1 for mid range gains
4-1 for high end gains
your choice.

ust depends onwhat kind of driving you do..
4-1 works well for me.. i thought i felt a big difference with the 4-1 compared to the 4-2-1, but that was with the *** dyno..
