With the help of former Highschool classmate, I narrowed down my crank no start problem to ECM. Seems there is a solder joint somewhere loosing contact when it's cold outside. And reconnecting when it's warm. I verified this by placing a space heater in the car for awhile. Tried it, and she started right up! So my question is, has anyone ever found this to be there problem? And if so did you find the location of the disconnecting solder joint. I would rather just fix this joint, and not buy another ECM... 1994, Honda Del Sol SI 5 speed

Required information is required, not optional. Also, a part number is not a good thread title.

Usually it's the main relay that has that problem of solder joints cracking. I would swap in a known good main relay and try to start the car. If that doesn't work borrow any obd1 ecu that works and see if it starts. If it were me and the ecu was in fact the problem I would go ahead and buy a chipped p28 and have phearable.net to send a chip...If it is the main relay take it apart and reflow the solder joints

If it's a cold solder joint, it's USUALLY pretty easy to spot. Depending on the joint will depend on how easy it is to solder suck up the old solder and resolder fresh.

If it's a surface mount part, that can be annoying at best.

Good advise above me of checking the main relay first, rule that out, then move onto the ECU.

Google cold solder joints and you might be shown the visual cues to look for.

Thanks so much, I have put in a new main relay since my last post. But to no avail. I have pretty much narrowed it down the the Ecu. I just wish they had new ones. The thought of paying any monies for anything refurbished chaps my ***. I would love to find someone to refurbish the one I have. As so I don't add to the already problematic trashing to our planet.

Thanks so much for your input. I did get another main relay, it seems it is not that. Are not all chipped Ecu's intended to give more power? Or do they simply just make the car run more efficient than the car was when It was originally produced? Running smoothly I am deff. Interested in. But I do not want to sacrifice the gas mileage to receive more power. It is just my preference.

Chipping is to allow modification or alteration to the vehicle software via tuning. You can tune for power or fuel efficiency or something in between.

Chipping will also let you run a different ECU than what was stock for your car, a work around as it were.
