37820-P28-A02 ECM - solder joint loosing contact in cold weather
With the help of former Highschool classmate, I narrowed down my crank no start problem to ECM. Seems there is a solder joint somewhere loosing contact when it's cold outside. And reconnecting when it's warm. I verified this by placing a space heater in the car for awhile. Tried it, and she started right up! So my question is, has anyone ever found this to be there problem? And if so did you find the location of the disconnecting solder joint. I would rather just fix this joint, and not buy another ECM... 1994, Honda Del Sol SI 5 speed

Required information is required, not optional. Also, a part number is not a good thread title.

If it's a cold solder joint, it's USUALLY pretty easy to spot. Depending on the joint will depend on how easy it is to solder suck up the old solder and resolder fresh.
If it's a surface mount part, that can be annoying at best.
Good advise above me of checking the main relay first, rule that out, then move onto the ECU.
Google cold solder joints and you might be shown the visual cues to look for.

Re: 37820-P28-A02 ECM - solder joint loosing contact in cold weather
Usually it's the main relay that has that problem of solder joints cracking. I would swap in a known good main relay and try to start the car. If that doesn't work borrow any obd1 ecu that works and see if it starts. If it were me and the ecu was in fact the problem I would go ahead and buy a chipped p28 and have phearable.net to send a chip...If it is the main relay take it apart and reflow the solder joints

Chipping is to allow modification or alteration to the vehicle software via tuning. You can tune for power or fuel efficiency or something in between.
Chipping will also let you run a different ECU than what was stock for your car, a work around as it were.
