2nd Gear On An Auto 1997 Civic EX
While flooring it at a standstill in 2nd gear, my civic accelerates significantly slower than when it is in d4. This is very unusual because most other cars that I have driven seem to accelerate faster in 2nd gear. Is my civic uniquely retarded, or do almost all civics behave like this?
Also, could someone please provide me with some tips for shifting techniques on an auto? Thanks.

NEUTRAL DROPS are fun j/k that's an easy way to destroy the tranny though... just hold the brake with your left foot.. hold the accelerator with your right foot.. rev it to 2000 and then take your foot off the brake.. bam take off time

That was genious! But what about some shifting techniques? What about my 2nd gear? Do you have an explanation for it?

when you have it in second, the car skips first and starts in second. That is why it is so slow. I torque brake with the car in d3, if it redlines 3rd then i shift to 4th. Never start in 2nd unless you are in snow or somthing.
