i think they should...it will be a tight fit, and you will rub on the inside of your fenderwell

225-40-18's are to big. its not so much the width but the height. Unfortunately they will rub. the "40" isnt a measurement in the sense that the width is; it is actually a ratio of sidewall to width. The best way to find out if something fits is to find someone willing to let you test fit one of their wheels on your car.

well you cant just "try it on" tires expand whenever they heat up... so youd have to drive when theyre on your car to get an accurate reading.

Do you really have your heart set on 18" rims? Your speedometer will be off quite a bit i think.. about 10.3% using this tire size calculator.. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
and from what Ive heard the ride will be rougher...

Stock is 185/65/14 . Yeah, this new size is way too big, you will rub im almost positive, as well as having heavy 18s and such wide tires, your steering is gonna be a LOT heavier and harder, especially at low speeds and reversing. With 18s ya might wanna look into those tiny rubber band tires, like a 35 profile, mind you the ride will be awful. 18s are pushin it for a civic. I seriously advise against it. But the 225/40/18 will make your speedo off a lot, give ya harder turning, heavy tires and wheels will make the ride worse and slower accelleration and braking. Look into small profile tires, although they are considerably more expensive.

Ive had 215-35-18 on my civic for about a year. If you dont live near super nice roads dont do it. I myself think it looks good but im sellin them and getting 15s
