205/55/15?
Im looking at some nice tires recomended by a performance shop here locally. So im looking at some rota 15" Slipstream or actions. But im curious about tire size. I am going to be driving a 92 LX, so will 205/55/15's fit without rub on the fender or wheel well without rubbing? The tires i would like to purchase are BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 , they run about 99$ a pop in that size @ tirerack.com

205 is not too far from 195 which i believe is stock. i personally had this setup on my accord but mines a 5th gen. it's saved my rims a couple times. but it also depends on how dumped you are if you want to know if your going to rub. most tires will rub if you are dumped.

Forgive me for sounding like complete newb, and feel free to flame me but 'dumped'? And btw, i lowed what i thought the profile should be to 55 because im pretty sure thats still pretty good height. I accually work in tire retail, so iv seen every size imagineable, but iv never delt with aftermarket rim sizing on a civic before. So if i need i could drop the profile to 50 (which if you dont know is 50% of the width of 205mm)

dumped is referring to ride height. Is the car lowered? If so, how much. I'm running 205-45-16's on rota's, lowered about 2 inches. I can barely stick my thumb between the tire and fender well, but I have never rubbed. Hope that helps.

Is it safe to run 205/50/15 as opposed to 205/55/15?

His car is stock. As far as I know Tony, you have no plans for suspension any time soon, correct? So no, his car isnt dumped. Me on the other hand will be running 3.25" lower soon

Re: (EGtenchu)
50 would be fine, I just got a set of 195/50/15 nittos for my hatch and they're great. as long as your not tucking tire you should be ok with 205 on a sedan

Re: (93CX)
I have 205/55/15 Falken Azenis, on my slipstreams, on my 94 hatchback.
The car is lowered a considerable amount, the only problem I ever had was hitting bumps and my back rubs, but then thats my shitty stock suspension.

Re: 205/55/15? (civichatch95md)
I have 205/50/15 lowered on Skunk2 Springs in a VX. It rubs when i turn the wheel all the way to one side. My rear rubs on bad bumps, but only the one side (blown shocks ).

205/55-15 is too big. Go with a 195/50-15 if you have a '92-95 (stock size is 185/60-14), or a 205/50-15 if you have a '96-00 (stock size is 185/65-14).

You have 205/50-15, because that's the only 15" size that RT-215 Azenis are made in.
