Because then you just sunk $12,000 into a Honda Civic. Good idea, though .

I'd do it. If I had the 12k to spare.

I wonder what kind of budget this guy has, he did get the car for free :-)

N2o won't blow a motor...stupidity with N2o, or boost blows them everytime. Constant power isn't always necessary and that's probably a good thing for people that are to reckless when they have it.

It's a good alternative that fits some people's uses such as my own quite well. Because my car is a daily driver, I like the reliability and simplicity of running NA. Rarely do I ever need that extra power on the street, but if I do, it's just a flick of the switch away. For the race track a bottle usually does me a full day of racing so it's economical. So for myself and many others like me, I have good fuel economy, reliability and power when required all for a price that's far less than running boost. You have to fill A LOT of bottles to come close to the cost of running a decent FI kit on a car. I only go through 2-3 bottles a year in my car (store it in the winter). So for some it's a good option, just like boost is better for others.

I haven't had a chance to run it at the track this year to see, so I'll have to wait for the spring now. Before when my car was mostly stock with just a CAI, DC 4-1 and axle back exhaust with a ZEX dry kit at a 75hp shot it ran a 13.98 @102.4 mph with really heavy 17's on my car. At that time the car dyno'd at 212 hp and 177 lbs of torque to the wheels on the bottle and 142.6 hp 103 tq NA. With the mods I now have, the car dyno's at 159.6 hp and 108 tq at the wheels NA. I have since switched to a NX wet kit spraying an 80 hp shot and the car dyno's at 249.8 hp and 189 lbs of torque at the wheels. With those numbers I estimate the car should be able to run the 1/4 around 13.4 @ 105-6 mph. That's full street weight with nothing stripped out of it. Slicks would probably let me hit a high 12 or low 13 I would think.

$12,000 on nitrous, turbo kit and k20? Maybe if you suck at life.
