Default 2004 civic help!!!!

Hey, I have a 2004 Honda Civic SE non vtec SOHC 1.7L. I have a few problems with it and needed some advice. Everytime I start out in a gear or switch gears *eg: put clutch in* I hear a clicking noise coming from the front of my car somewere. It seems to do it all the time and not once in a while. I have already replaced my drivers side axle when it popped out. Another thing is I wanted to get some engine work done on it to beef up the HP and didnt want forced induction. Any help would be great. Also what exactly do I have to get done to get my rpm line up higher without blowing my engine?

i think it would be a lot of work to do anything below 01...k20s are pretty expensive plus you dont seem knowledgable to do the swap yourself so thats more money...id boost the bitch

Alright, so no engine swap and $5000.00 *roughly* for a turbo/intercooler on that stock engine and it should do the trick? thanks!

I have an 02 civic and the only way to make it "quick" is either spray or boost. I was spraying a 50 shot for about a year and it worked pretty well. But now i am about to install my custom turbo on it next month.

Also i have a question, maybe you guys can help me out to. Is the 04 civics concidered the 8th gen. or is it still the 7th, cause the front lights changed and im not sure. I just like know for my info.
