2004 civic ex engine swap.
I just purchased a 2004 civic ex, what type of engine swap can I do to it? I want an egine that I can build up and boost the hell out of. In addition, are there any turbo kits out there now for the 2004 civic ex? Thanks..

thats exactly what I was thinking. You just bought the car probably new if not then it's still under warranty. Plus there aren't that many modifications out for the em's unlike the eg and ek's which have anything and everything you could ask for. Now to answer your question you can swap any k20 series into your car fairly easy. As for turbo I don't know if all the k20's are this way but they have high compression which is bad for boost unless you do a lot of tuning, build the motor and get everything right. If it was me I'd just find some bolt-ons, and exhaust and go that way and wait till the manufacturers bring more parts out.

GSR swap=b series.....you need a K series motor.

D17A1 (LX/DX)
D17A2 (EX)
or
D17A6 (HX)
And just buy the Stafford Fabrication Turbo kit and be done with it.
$3500 buys you about the same HP as an $7500+ Swap.

thanks for the clarification. i knew it was a 17 something.... anyway, just turbo what you have, you have a spanking NEW motor that is unabused and in tip top running shape. just use that and build yourself a killer sleeper.
