Default 2003 Civic LX Braking Problem

My gf has a 03 civic lx, and ever since it was brand new, the brakes were a bit weird, every time you step on the pedal, it would be gradually slowing down, but the pedal will drop faster at a point and the car will have a greater braking force all by itself, I'm wondering if it has to do with the brakelines or are newer civic brakes just this way?.. It's not a BIG problem, but it's definitely annoying.

I'm about the change out the front pads and turn the rotors, wondering if I should do something with the brake lines as well, thanks in advance

Check for leaks in the lines/fittings. The system may need bleeding ...test the master cylinder too.
Also would suggest buying new blank rotors instead of turning....e.g.Bremo/Bradi etc. Cost is not much more than having a shop turn the existing rotors. The symptoms you explained do not sound like pads or rotors however.

well the rotors have never been turned, the car has roughly 20,000 miles, and turning them cost around $10 a peice so it aint bad.. any more suggestions other than bleed the lines?

bring it back to the dealer. you still have lots of warranty left. even though they're wear items, if the pad/rotor are defective, they should be covered under warranty

Doesnt sound good, definatly take it back and get thegarage to check, if its not a problem covered by warrenty at least they will check it for free and tell you what the problem is, posssibly could be the vacuum in the cylinder the diaphraghm may have a hole in it but thats just a guess,

well I don't have alot of free time on my hands, I was just thinking of swapping the pads out and resurfacing the rotors this weekend, I don't really have time to go to the dealer and sit around for the ******* to get back to me only to tell me they don't know what's wrong and if there is a problem it's my fault.
