2002 SI or 2002 RSX(base)?
I have to make a decision soon. the Rsx is $20,300(bargainble, maybe down to $18000) and the Si is $20,400(non negotiable, set price). the Si's price is set in stone and the rsx is bargainble, which should i choose? The main reasons i'd choose is: rally shifter, seats. The main reasons i'd choose rsx: cheaper, less likely to get stolen.

Why don't you order it over the internet, and get a better price.
RSX will have more luxo features.
you know what...why don't you drive both..I've already drove the RSX. Not impressed. I will drive the new Si in about three weeks. I have buddy who works at Manly Honda in Santa Rosa, CA. They have a black one impound, and it's gonna be their short term demo.

Well the Acura will have more Luxo items like leather , accents blah blah blah blah blah . While the Civic will still have cloth and standard features . But in the long run if you can live without Leather and so on . Go with the civic , Most of the time the Acuras have a higher insurance rate then Hondas . Just my two cents

I am going on what my insurance agent informed me . He has told me that if I had an Acura Integra , with my driving record (clean) and my car being a 2000 . That if I had a 2000 Acura integra , that my rate would be almost if not doubled . This is from what he told me .

Might sound minute but I saw a picture of the Si interior and it doesn't have an arm rest...
I need an arm rest.. I'm a lazy driver

The RSX doesn't have an armrest either. What is up with Honda not putting armrest in cars?
I'm with dragII. I would try to find a used WRX for around $21000. They are selling new WRX wagons here for $23000. The sedans sell for around $24500.
$20000 is way too much for a Civic.

if you're lokking for bang for the buck, get the civic, it's lighter than the base RSX and if i'm not mistaken, they have the exact same motor...160 hp so the Acura will be slower right from the jump. just a few thouhgts

actually, civic weighs more, by ~50lbs.. and they don't have the same motor, although similar. both 160hp, but rsx pulls 141lbs/ft as where the si pulls 131.

when did buying a civic with 19k consider bang of the buck ?
(i know i know, when you compare RSX and Si.. Si is cheaper)
but the pricing on the new Si is just outrageous....
there are LOTS of car that is a better deal ..
dont get me wrong .. i love honda .... but just dont feel like paying 19k for a civic ..

neither is worth it...IMO, but the RSX(base) is just a plain 'ol rip off. Spend the extra cheddar and go with the type-s or even better, a WRX like was said before.

Re: 2002 SI or 2002 RSX(base)? (Civic Hatch Boy)
Before I launch into a long diatribe...
DONT GET THE BASE MODEL RSX WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, just had to get that out. By the way, 20Gs sounds a little high for a Civic, I thought they MSRPed for like 18Gs. But let me give you a couple more options here. Ok, the new Si runs mid 15s in the quarter-mile. For less than 20Gs you can get a new Hyundai Tiburon, Focus SVT, or a Sentra SE-R SPECV. They all run about the same 1/4 mile time, and I'm sure you can get a helluva deal on the Tiburon. Plus, the SPECV MSRPes at $16,999. You should look into a used GS-R or Civic Si too. If I was you I would get a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX for like 3Gs and pour a load into performance parts. You could reach tens before you hit $20,400. But you really need to evaluate what you want to do with your car. Speed, style, or just a reliable near-stock commuter with a good punch when you need it. If you not planning on going fast go ahead and get the RSX. Sorry for the long post, but I hate it when prople waste money on crappy cars...
