2001 D17 in a '94 Hatch?
I have a '94 CX, and I've got a line on a 2001 Civic EX motor for dirt cheap. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone trying to put these two together. Will I need a mount kit, will my d-series trans bolt up, and do I even want to try do this? Thanks!

well just a couple of things the 2001 civics started that ulev emission crap. for the simplicity of everything i would just go with a 92-00 civic ex swap for your car. it is a lot easier and more of a direct swap. plus the 2001 is a "return-less fuel system".
oh yea and i used to have one and those things are slow even for a civic.

3 words.
Returnless fuel system.
Don't bother. More trouble than it's worth with all the wiring, changing the fuel system and still having a gutless motor. Hell, you can buy a gutless B16 for less work and money

Don't mean to jack the thread or be such a noob, but could you explain what this returnless fuel system's about?
Also, don't these 01+ Civics use a plastic intake manifold or something like that? That's what I remember reading somewhere here in HT, but I'm not sure.....

No, they can't. They require a mount kit. D-series is not interchangeable with K-series.

No, because '01+ Civics (with exception of the EP3 Si) use a D17A engine, not a K20A. Thus you would not need K20 mounts.
