2001-2004 civics d-series?
as title states are the new model civics d-series equipped?
i dont hear anything about these motors and it seems odd i havent heard of anyone mating that 1.7L block to a z6 or y8 head?
im not sure if these heads flow better than the newer models or not, but just by the increase in displacement id assume someone would try something. is it not worth the time to do? no significant gains? is that increase in displacement not even worth it?
i tried searching for 'd17' but i just got some stuff bout turbo, header, crank, d17 head on d16 block, and a thread about what i wanted to know but came to no conclusion.

From what i hear the d17 is a crappy motor. It has weak everything. the only difference that i have heard is that the specs are a bit different for the power band, but the numbers are pretty much the same as the y8. And plus the have an ugly intake manifold.

How bout we ignore the debate here and take it to the GDD or Kill Stories.
I'm also interested in some D17 info when comparing the Z6 and Y8. HP is tha same I believe, but I've never really looked into it.
Spade? Mista?

Re: (D16Z6racing)
no you cant frankenstein the d17s and the d16s, the cranks are completely different among other things... the d17 is the bastard child of the d motors ( just kidding 7th gen guys ) .. it wouldnt work tho .. its been discussed @ http://www.d-series.org

lol
yea guys the ONLY things that are the same are our clutches and flywheels. those are the only two things that are interchangable on our engines. period.
