2000 Si squirting oil out the side of the block.
We just finished installing a B18C block with a B16A2 head with a Cometic Gasket for B16A, B16A, B17, B18C head/block combination on my friend's 2000 Si. Upon cranking the engine for the first time oil started gushing out of the block/head interface area near the thermostat housing. Dumped about a half a quart of oil in about 4 seconds. No damage to the block obviously (car was only allowed to idle). I'm assuming something is missing or the gasket may be the wrong one for this application. Has anyone ever had this happen? Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

yah sounds like you got the headgasket on or the wrong gasket.. Cause i did a lsvtec conversion and i forgot too do the tap on the block and i was spraying oil in the same exact spot.. my guess you got a nonvtec headgasket and one of the oil passes is blocked forcing it to spray out the side. just my guess..
