2000 si rebuild kit
Hi
I have a 2000 Si and I'm rebuilding it. I just got a ported and polished b16 head with an ITR valvetrain.
With 172k miles, I am going to rebuild the block too. I need to choose some cams and I need to find a rebuild kit.
I'm looking at CTR cams, but my friend is telling me to look at skunk2 stage 1's.
I want CTR pistons but I don't know if I can really afford them, since I have to also rebuild the tranny, get axles, brakes, etc...
Can someone please refer me to a reputable site that sells rebuild kits? I'm looking for everything but the pistons (rings, bearings, gaskets, oil pump, water pump, etc, etc).
Also if anyone who has gone down this road has some tips, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

runvsofkris - i changed my oil every 3k miles and never really had a problem. in fact the motor was still running great at 172k, but once i started taking it apart i just decided to rebuild it.

Re: (nissanjon)
How much are you looking to spend is the question and what is your budget. Because rebuilding a bottom end can cost almost as much as just replacing the whole engine. With all parts, new seals crank oil pump and water pump jdm itr pistons .25 oversized with full port and polished head 3 degree valve job port matched intake manifold and throttle body it ran me about 3 grand...
When I could've bought an itr shortblock brand new from honda fully assembled for 2800 dollars.

Re: (137)
I just want a rebuild kit - I would like to reuse the stock crank/rods/pistons, if possible.
I'm looking for rings/bearings/gaskets/seals, etc. I'll gladly pay for that stuff.
If I can then afford nice pistons on top of that then great, but that would be a bonus for me.

If you're not going to get your block bored, make sure you have it re-honed before you put it back together or the rings won't seat properly and you'll start getting blow-by in about a year...
