Default 2000 si radio/climate control panel

So Ive been posting plenty of topics on (pretty sure youve seen some of my recent posts on here) getting my 2000 si back to normal. I have plenty of problems with some of the electrical stuff in my interior.

1st problem

*Ive done some research on my car and its a true em1, i made sure before i made the purchase. one of the problems i have is that my climate control panel lights up white like a regular civic not orange. im guessing the person before me replaced it with an civic ex one for whatever reason. I went to the dealership and theres 2 bulbs in the back of the climate control panel like these in this picture, you see part # 10 and 15 in this pic? (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ONTROL+%282%29) theyre bulbs which im guessing is what makes the panel light up orange OR is there something built in part # 3 and 4 that make it light up orange ? Im totally lost here. any insight ?

2nd problem

* My dome light, Part # 2 (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...INTERIOR+LIGHT) has 3 clicks to it. All the way forward the light stays on all the time. In the middle the light is supposed to stay only when your doors are open,m then turn off when theyre closed, like an indicator. And all the way to the back it stays off no matter what. the problem i have is that the middle setting stays on even when my doors are closed. Could this be a bad switch ? im lost here to.

Does your vin have EM1 in the #4,#5, and #6 digits of your vin number? As far as I know the bulbs have a little orange cap over them to emit an amber color. If its a true em1 the guy before you probably just removed the caps. The switch could be bad, does it to this with both doors open?

Yes all you need are the light bulbs with the orange caps.

you are right the bulbs do come with the orange caps, now i just have no idea where they go exactly and how to install them. As for the dome light i have no idea whats wrong with it, it stays on with the doors closed while its in the middle setting which its not supposed to

Lights are easy to instal, should be a DIY guide out there somewhere just do some searching. As far the dome light does, I would check your door switches which are located in the door jam at the bottom of the B pillar. I have never heard tell of them failing but its an easy check so start there. If those are N.O when the switch is "out" and N.C when the switch is "in" your good. If thats checks out get a new dome light, I cant see them being anymore than 5 bucks at the wreckers. My dome light in my 98 hatch is screwy to and only sometimes work.

good luck
