Default 2000 Si all motor build............any suggestions?

ok so i'v got a 2000 Si with the normal **** on it (intake header ect.) and my problem is that i am a builder on a budget. i got someone that wants to swap their 98+ ITR motor W/ tranny for my B16A2 and $1000. should i get the swap and build on it a lil bit or should i keep the B16A2 and build that? and for wich ever you choose how should i spent my money to get the most out of it?

thanks

That's a great deal if the b18c5 is in good shape.

Def go with the b18c5.

if you plan on staying NA go through with the deal, but if you want go boost then stay with the b16.

make sure you do a leakdown, compression test anything you can do to make sure it runs well. Dont just drive the car and say "it pulls hard must be good." Shift through all the gears at higher rpm to make sure there are no grinds. If you can take the valve cover offer and look to see how the internals look. You have to wonder why someone would get rid of their R motor for a b16. Even if you are still putting a grand on top. Also make sure the motor and tranny have the vin tags if they do make sure you have them run and they are not stolen.
