Default 2000 LS swap question!?

If doing a 2000 LS swap into a 98 Civic EX, I know the wiring is really different. Is it required to splice into the harness or not? I am only familiar with EG/EH harnesses and am completely ignorant when it comes to EK/EJ. I have already searched for this topic or something close, but if you can help, please do

which ECU are you going to use? the 2000 LS ecu? if so..then you will need to buy a 96-98obdii-->99-00obdii jumper harness to plug the ecu up to your 98 civic. If you use the 98 LS ecu..then its plug and play yo!

Ok I just did a 2001 B20 into a 96 DX so the wiring should be similar here if you are using an OBD2 LS ECU.
MAP-extend to fit
TPS-extend to fit
Primary o2-extend to fit
Secondary O2-extend to fit
Distributor-match wire colors, wire up the blue tach wire inside the distributor to the ignitor (or if running a 2000 ECU, probably have to wire the blue tach wire to the NEP line on the ECU, A19 I believe)
EVAP-extend to fit, mount evap purge solenoid on firewall
CFK-extend to fit, match 2 of the same colored wires, cap third off (orange if i remember right)
IACV-match 2 same colored wires, cap off third
IAT-extend to fit
Move ECU pin A14 to A12 (for IACV)
I believe that is it, everything else should plug in. This is if you are using an OBD2 ECU and don't need the conversion harness.
If you need the conversion harness, someone else pipe in with anymore requirements as Im not familiar with any other changes when doing that route.

I am assuming that you have a 96-98 LS ecu..thats why it plugged up to your car...but if he has a 99-01 LS ecu...he'll need a harness....

I found out that the motor is actually from a 98 Integra.

Does the 96-98 Civic have a similar type harness to the integra/92-95 Ciivc in which the plugs on the shock tower just disconnect and then plug into the new motor?

yeah...the motor should plug up to your chassis with no problem...and if your using the 98 LS ecu..it will plug up ok too...

Yeah I have an obd2 ecu. I assumed he did since he mentioned splicing into the harness, but who knows what people mean sometimes. And it's plug and fiddle with a little bit of wiring and then play YO! lol

A 99 LS ECU plugs into a 96-98 Civic - Acura lagged a year when it came time to switch from OBD2a to OBD2b.
