2000 Honda Civic, White Smoke, Check Engine Light and Overheating. Most likely a blown head gasket. Can I fix it myself?
Hello, I am 95% sure I have a blown head gasket in my 2000 honda civic lx. I've never really tinkered with the car outside of routine maintenance. I only paid 2000 for the car and don't really want to spend 600 to get the head replaced. Is there anyway my father and I can repair it ourselves? I am kinda hands-on (in that I fix broken phones and other basic electronics also I'm an engineering student.) I know the head gasket is a whole nother animal but is it possible for me to fix myself? I'm willing to invest the time. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Quite possibly but it depends on your actions when the engine overheated, what were you steps to cool it off?
