2000 FBP Civic EM1, How much to offer?
Hey Guys,
My car was recently flooded and I find myself needing to find a new daily driver to get to and from work.
I came across a 2000 FBP Civic Si with 170,750 miles but in excellent condition cosmetically. It could have been the wax the dealership used but from what I can tell it's in a great condition and it's bone stock. Carfax says it only had one owner and has a clean title.
The dealership is asking $6,900. I've checked KBB & Edmunds and both say roughly the vehicle is worth $7,500.
I do about 2,500 - 3,500 miles a year (mostly city driving), I think I did 10k in 4 years with my '98 Civic.
I'm wondering if I should be worried about the mileage and what would be fair to offer the dealership. Thanks.
BTW, I apologize for posting no tech information. I didn't know where to post this question.

test drive it, get some M4D VTAK
don't forget to be H-T about it, keep the lowballing tradition alive jk price sounds good. save yourself a little cash, try 6k

Yeah, I'm heading in tomorrow for the test drive. I'll be looking for any grinding within 3rd gear. It's being sold by a place that specializes in german exotics, I found it real weird they were selling an si and a prelude.

Are you kidding me? 170,000 miles on a 2000 and they want how much?
Christ on a crutch, my friend bought his 99 si with 80k miles for 7,000.
Don't buy that. The milage is ridiculous.
He drove like ~25k a year!!! Your average joe drives 8-12k a year.
That car is probably close to the end of it's lifetime. If I saw that in an autotrader ad I'd be laughing my *** off and calling the dealer and telling them they're a bunch of cocksmokes. That's ridiculous.
For 7k you could get a 2000 ex with 70k miles!!!

He could buy an Ex, you are right..
Please don't compare the Si and ex.. They look similar but there is important stuff that sets them apart. I have a GSR swapped 2000 si with 82k I am looking to sell for about 7500.. pm me if you are interested. Way better looking that that car!

Nice EM1, but $6,900 try like $5,500 to $6,000 with that many miles. I bet that they are all highway miles. And some old guy bought it brand new in 2000. ask the dealer for the guys name and phone number who use to own it and call him up and see what he has to say about the car before you buy it.

Christ on a crutch you'd think EM1's were made of gold.

In my opinion, keep shopping. Even if it was $6,000 I wouldn't buy it with that mileage. You can find a clean EM1 with under 100,00 miles for $7,000 or less easily. You just have to know where to look.

I have to agree with him on that one. Thats a shitload of miles, yea, it could have been kept up to date with everything changed, flushed etc etc, but I wouldn't pay $6700 for it. They're a dealership, they're gonna try to get you to bend over to begin with.

Re: 2000 FBP Civic EM1, How much to offer? (99TurboBlue)
I appreciate all the responses. I found out today they ended up selling the car already to two people by accident. I believe they sold it for $6500 give or take.
I agree with some, I had a hard time trying to convince myself the high mileage was ok... in the end I couldn't do it. Thanks everyone.

You're officially the worlds biggest idiot.
Em1's aren't made of gold.
it's a b16 in an ex, doesnt make it magic.

Most rediculous statement I've ever heard. Sig worthy.
