2000 ex sedan...wheel size help?
I'm looking to get a 2000 ex sedan, and I have a set of 215/45/17's from my last em2.
WILL THESE RUB?? nowhere has my question been answered so far.

Well, if Archer's threads above didn't answer your question, try this:
The stock tire size on a 2000 Civic EX sedan is a P185/65R14. Overall diameter of this tire is 23.47"
The P215/45R17 that you are trying to use is 24.62" tall... that is 1.15" TALLER than the stock size. It is also greater than 1" wider than stock, and it is far more square from shoulder to shoulder. All of this increases your chances of tire rub. If the car is lowered, your chances of it NOT RUBBING are almost zero. Depending on wheel offset, it is either going to rub some (like when you turn), commonly (often, even in a straight line when the suspension compresses) or almost always (meaning if you camber in the top of the tires, everything except going straight on smooth pavement makes it rub).
The proper size to "Plus 3" size your car is a P205/40R17... with a diameter of 23.46".

Thats alot of tricky math there but explains it in laymans terms.
You'll probably rub man.

I am sure glad that somebody backed up the Avatar character for me... for a minute, I thought I had one of those "old guy eye episodes" which would have been quite embarrassing.
As for Archer... Hey, I am a fan... of both him and Doctorake. I certainly meant no disrespect.
I forget that this is a 2D world... and witty retorts apparently don't have the same effect in 2D as they do in 3D.

Oh, and jpbnoman... that is all from memory, not from an online calculator. Remember, I am an old guy... it would take me more time to find the calculator online (Google) than it would to manually do the math... I mean, when I was in school, we had the abacus, not the PC !!! lol
