2000 EX into a 92 CX ... In need of help ASAP !!!!!!
I am dropping a 2000 ex 5 speed into my 92 cx and i need a lot of info. What am i going to need to drop it in? (motor mounts, wiring plugs, ecu, distributor, exhaust, custom wiring). Does anyone have any good info on it? Any help is appreciated. A step by step instruction list and parts list would be of the greatest help. Thank you. Please e-mail me with the info to rufastenuf4me1@hotmail.com if you have the list and instructions or just post it. Again thanks for your help.

Hey man, that swap should be pretty easy.
Use all of your 1992 Civic mounts INCLUDING the black bracket that's bolted directly to the block where the timing belt is.
Afetr that it should all bolt up, and you should then just run a P28 1992-1995 Si/EX ECU and you'll be SET. Even though the motor is OBDII, the engine harness should plug RIGHT up to your underhood CX harness - this way you have to rewire NOTHING.
Like I said, run the P28ECU and you're set. You prolly don't even have to wire up the VTEC - that's the only thing you need to double check.
You will also need to buy an exhaust since the CX one SUCKS and is too long because the CX cat is IN the exhaust manifold. So basically buy a header and an exhaust for a 1992-1995 DX/Si hatch.
Good luck

pretty much a straight drop in swap. use the wiring harness from the ex or use your current harness.

If he uses the CX harness, he will have to swap injectors and rewire the plug on the distributor.
So USE the EX harness unless you want the extra headache of having to rewire the distributor and swapping out the injectors, etc.

Your injectors on the D16Z6 should still plug into the CX engine harness, so you should be fine.

Okay, if you did not get the ENGINE harness on your motor, GET it if you can. Then just get the distributor for the 00 EX and then plug it all up like I had mentioned above. This will keep you from having to re-wire anything, which will cancel out another variable to have to track down if the motor doesn't run right.
Then just find a P28 ECU to run it and you will be set. These ECUs come from the 1992-1995 Si hatchback and 1993-1995 EX coupes - but be SURE to get one for a MANUAL car.
Although the engine harness is OBDII, it will plug right up to the underhood 92 Civic harness. Then by running the P28 ECU you will be running true OBDI - the ECU determines whether or not your engine is OBDI or OBDII.
