2000 EX engine and manual trans interchangable with what years?
I have a 2000 EX with a 3rd gear that grinds when downshifted into. The timing belt also needs to be done. Engine has over 100k.
I am contemplating swapping the engine and trans. What years can I draw from?

OP: the easiest swap would be 96-00 Civic since they're already obd2 and they'd be plug and play. However you could use just about any d-series 92-00 if you're up for doing the wiring, which isn't much.
Just swap in a B and call it a day

theres OBD2A and theres OBD2B. You have OBD2B, 99-00 Civics, and all 96-98 civics are OBD2A. You will want to get an adapter harness if you want an engine from a year other than 99-00.
I will grab that engine/tranny from you since you dont want it.

So what year trannys will straight swap? Or is rebuilding these trannys easy? I have rebuilt a couple ford engines, modded a few fords, swapped the trailing arm bushings and scooter motors. Have a calibrated hand. Not a newb here but dont want to get in to deep.
