2000 EM1 questions, NEED HELP!
I have a 2000 Si, w/ an Apexi N1 full piping exhaust, and an AEM cai. I am looking into purchasing a DC sports 4-1 header, and i need to know if it will pass smog. I was told it wont, and then i was told it would. I live in CA so i know the rules are strict, but i would appreciate any valid responses..thanks.

n00bs...
DC headers are all CARB legal--meaning they will pass smog in Cali and the other 49 states. The CARB exemption# prevents your ***** from getting busted.
Now go buy it.

so i guess ill just have t buy a new cat converter. that way i can modify the one i have now to fit the new header, and then when i go in for smog, just use the stock header with the new cat converter.. will that pass?

hey, whats goin on all cat sity members..anyway, thanks for the input but i talked to the guy and he said the header had a CARB number and had a 2 and a 1/4 inch collector, so i dunno. he said $250 picked up or shipped no lower. i thought the JDM header all had 2.5 inch collctors, and required a modified cat to fit on a b16, this is sounding kindaweird now, but maybe its cause im a noob. nyway..its a used header but in good shape.. im not sure yet. anyone have any ideas as to other good headers for the same price range, ued or not i dont care f its in good condition. thanks...

Dood, just get the DC JDM 4-1 with a 2.5" high flow cat (car sound). You should be fine. When the time comes for inspection, you can always install your stock header and cat. I would NOT get rid of your stock header and cat.. Good luck..

well i would get it i guess but not right now, cause i need to go priceshopping and look around. I need to fond one that is probably new, and just deal with the price. i would buy a new hi-flo cat anyway and just keep my stock head like u said. thanks
