2000 Civic won't start
My son recently bought a 2000 Civic EX model I think. He got in to start it up the other morning, pressed down clutch, turned the key and no starter, not even a click. Lights windows horn, etc... all work, but starter won't happen. Checked battery connections, they are good. We're stuck. Can anybody give a direction on this issue?
Thanks

Re: 2000 Civic won't start
No sound at all when the key is turned to the START position, yet you still have instrument lights and power to the main relay and fuel pump is almost always the clutch switch pad crumbling to pieces and falling into the floor... thus NOT closing the clutch switch when pushing the pedal all of the way to the floor during the start procedure. If you see small dark blue pie shaped pieces of plastic on the floor that seem odd... then you are absolutely sure that this is the problem. The other possibility is that the starter signal wire at the starter itself under the hood has come loose from the starter solenoid itself... so check that after you check the clutch pedal switch.
