2000 civic weird issue
Hey guys. So I'm very new to honda cars and motors etc. I have a 2000 honda civic that's all I know I dont even know what motor is in it. But I have a question. When I turn the car on and its idling, and I'm not in the seat becuase I'm doing something else like getting the kids in the car, it would just shut off after a couple minutes. But if I'm in the car driving and sitting at the light etc there is no issue at all. Is this a feature? Or is it a problem.

It is not designed to do that. It is likely to get worse and start cutting off while driving.
One common cause is the ignition switch losing contact. If it does stop by itself, do not touch the key until you look at the lights on the dashboard, they offer an important clue to the cause of the stall out. The "oil" and "battery" lights should be on whenever the key is on but the engine is not running.
