2000 Civic Trunk Floor
I have a 2000 Civic coupe and I really hate the trunk floor. It's cheap compressed cardboard with carpet over it and I really want to get rid of it. Has anyone replaced it before with something that will be stronger?

Re: 2000 Civic Trunk Floor
I replaced mine with special particle board you can buy at Lowes. It's made to be used behind bathroom tile, so it is naturally resistant to mold. Easy to cut, as well. Removed the old cardboard, placed it over the particle board, outlined in sharpie. Cheap Dremel with a diamond bit cut right through it.
Just make sure you're wearing mouth and eye protection. That dust is not friendly to your lungs or eyes. Washes off skin without problems, though.

Maybe try a thin sheet of engineered plastic and upholster glue the carpet back down.....thin, lightweight and still gives it a "stock look" without the lack of durability.
