2000 Civic SOHC dx (Non vtec) - What can I do?
So i finally paid off my 2000 honda civic....and I am ready to swap/tune
Any suggestions as to what I can and cannot do with this lil biotch
As far as I know..its at 108 hp and wanted to bring it up to at least 180 hp without blowing up the engine
Swap? Mini swap? Turbo?
Please help....newbie

You could find a LS for very cheap or even do a mini me and boost it.
There is many things you can do. It's up to you, what do you plan on using it for? Auto X or Drag or what?

depends on what u want to do and your budget. if u plan on staying with the sohc get an ex tranny best bang for buck, works great for n/a or boost.

Re: 2000 Civic SOHC dx (sohc_boy)
i would like to spend about two grand...would really like to make it an DOHC turbo beast
I am not looking to race with it. Just have some more punch on the streets. I hate merging on the highway when a freakin 18 wheeler is coming up my *** and I have to floor it and drop the hammer down to third not to die....or heavy on the brakes to let it go...then floor it again to get onto the highway....you know what i mean..
after the engine work is done, gonna get some more suspension work, brakes, and body work to it...then run it into the ground so to speak.
Tilt and 99hatch: Thanks for the articles. They gave me some really good ideas and I think I know where I might be headed

Re: 2000 Civic SOHC dx (CivicDX95)
i got a few friends that work on cars that can some of the work...as far as the turbo is involved i might need some additional assistance....anyone know anyone in nj that works cheap?
might need to go to a custom shop...or buy some books and videos and talk to as many people and watch them work on cars....either way..
