2000 Civic SOHC to DOHC Swap
I am new to the imports and have a tech. question...I have a 2000 Civic EX with the SOHC VTECH that is blown up and apart. I just got a complete wrecked 2000 Civic SI with the DOHC VTECH. Can I swap out just the motor, or does tranny , axles and electrical have to be changed to. Can someone help me out or is there a book or article that gets into detail about this swap? thanks

you need to use the dual cam tranny axles and the mounts and the shift linkages. other than that you can use the same harness and ecu. but it would be better to use the harness and ecu off the si if you have it already attached to the engine.

Re: (JayDieM_ej1)
You need the full motor with everything attached to it.
Transmission
Shift Linkage
Alternator
Axles
PS Pump
A/C Bracket
All motor mounts and brackets
Your car is OBDIIB and so is the SI. So just rip out the old SOHC with harness and ECU. Then put the SI motor in with it's own harness and ECU, plug in all your vacum and coolant hoses, and it should crank right up.
