if the car was running fine before you did all this work. obviously u did something wrong.
check all your wiring and make sure u put the distributor back in the right place.
did u mark the distributor before removal?

The safety starter switch has a 2P connector. Unplug the connector and jump it with a jumper wire. If it starts, the switch may be bad or the rubber stopper has fallen out or broken.

The switch is easy is bypass, so I'd give it a try.
Also make sure the large black wire connected to the starter has battery voltage. If so, the starter itself may be bad, as it sounds like the solenoid is getting voltage.

Check for voltage at the large black starter wire. Is the clicking noise coming from the starter solenoid. If so, also check whether the battery charge is low.
The switch looks like this:

i checked and double check and you cant put the distributor back in wrong its made to fit in only one way

Re: 2000 civic si starting issue
The distributor has no effect on the starter.
Buy or borrow a test light or multimeter so that you can check whether battery voltage reaches both starter wires.
