2000 civic si runs RICH
I cracked the head back in Nov and now have a new Typr-R head, pistons, and valves on the engine. Ever since I got it back it has been running rich. The idle flucuates about +/- 500 or so and sometimes it jsut idles down and dies. And it burns a lot of oil. Twice last week it wouldn't start, then a couple hours later it would start just fine. I replaced the front O2 sensor and checked the ECU, they were fine. I've taken it to a couple different shops and they can't figure it out. The coolant temp sensor was working properly. IM SO FRUSTRATED PLEASE HELP IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM.

Re: 2000 civic si runs RICH (1jinxednoob)
i have a stock 2000 civic si (top and bottom end) but switched the valvetrain to type R valve train. it runs rich too but im also running a JDM 98 ITR ecu (w/ ODMIIB to ODBIIA harness). My friend who is helping me said that after i get my header, cat, and exhaust swaped that i need to dyno to lean it out because it will continue to run rich and waste fuel.
