2000 Civic Si Overheating??
I have a 2000 Civic Si and the other day everything was fine while I was driving it. That same night I was driving back from my girlfriends house and I looked down and saw that it was almost all the way to the hot point. Well I pull over let it cool down for five minutes then drove to a near by gas station to buy coolant and a bottle of water. I go out pop the radiator cap and add coolant and water to it. I was able to make it close to home before it heated up again and then I pulled over and let it cool down again. When I got home I opened the hood and left it for two hours, after two hours came back downstairs added more coolant and water after that I started the car and it ran for 35 mintues while staying in the middle at 50% hot, within 5 minutes the engine idle changed and the car went to 75% hot. So I cut it off and left it for the night. I called my boy at Honda to ask what to do until I can get the car over to him and he said take the two pin gray connector by the thermostat and jump it to keep the fan on at all times because I had noticed that the fan didn't turn on once while it was overheating. So today I had some free time so I took a paper clip jump the harness and turn it on to warm it up. It warms up fine stays in the middle after 40 mintues still in the middle I take it out for a quick ride and the **** starts to overheat again. So any help or any info or any tricks as to cause and effect would greatly be appreciated. Sorry for all the reading and thanks for your time.

Re: (MattsGreenEG)
It's located in the thermostat housing. Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine. The hose will be connected to the thermostat housing neck. Hope that helps.

UPDATE!
This morning my boy from Honda called me and asked me if I was going to bring him my car I said yeh since he had time to do it. I get in my car back it out and head to Honda which is about 15 miles to where he works I get about 10 miles then the car starts to overheat I pull over let it cool down for five mintues and then I start driving I get about a mile and a half down the road overheats again I pull over and let it cool down. It's raining and I'm on a 10 lane road and I go to start the car to go again and the **** won't start just click, click, click so I figure the fan killed the battery. So about that time a motorist assitant cop pulls up ask what's going on and ask me if I want him to call a tow truck I said fu*k it, so he does. Tow truck gets there in like 15 mintues and loads the car up scrapes the fu*k out of my exhaust. I get towed the last 3 miles to Honda. The guy unloads my car, four of us push it in to the bay and I pay the tow truck driver $90. My boy opens the radiator and puts a funel on it runs the car to check for bubbles for a blow head gasket....no bubbles then he feels the return line to the radiator and it's cold so he pulls the thermostat assembly off and what do you know the thermostat is stuck closed. So we go grab a new thermostat and fan pin switch and it runs like a champ now. Also the car wouldn't start because battery terminals were loose so easy fix. After all was said and done parts cost me $39 so it was a cheap fix beside the gay towing bill. Thanks for everyones help and suggestions. And hope this may help someone in the future.
