Default 2000 civic si .. obd1 jdm gsr swap problems

2000 civic si
1995 b18c jdm complete swap (bought from a motor co.)
Running chipped p28
Converted to obd2
Fresh oil, filter and plugs

I've had the complete motorl on a pallet since 2010 in my shop. I just installed the motor and have the motor running. Idles good. Revs good but here is the problem. When reving the motor you see black smoke blowing out of the exhaust. Not 100% sure if the motor is bad. I was thinking since the motor hasn't ran in years that it might need to be ran threw a few heat cycles for the rings to seat again. Kinda stumped here. Anyone have this same problem?

Sounds like a shitty tune more than anything. Try a stock GS-R ECU.

Car also has been sitting since 2010. I just drove it a block or so. Pulls good all the way threw power band. But smokes at every shift. I have a obd2a gsr ecu an jumper harness. Ill try it.

Ok I use the p28 and was throwing codes. I just switched to the oem si ecu and don't throw any codes. Havent tried the gsr because the car is running fine on the stock ecu.
