Default 2000 civic si-no power when accelerating?? wheel bearing ? too

This is for my brothers em1. He bought it from a kid that had a built motor in it, the kid parted it out and then put a jdm b16 in it before my brother bought it. It idles fine and everything. Theres a check engine light on but its not throwing codes. When you accelerate it just doesn't go anywhere and kinda misses(in a sense) its really weird. The kid said he was adjusting the timing so could that be whats wrong with it?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Also does anyone know the part number for the front wheel bearings on a 2000 civic si??

thanks!!

iirc you cannot check the cel on a obd2 car by jumping the system, you have to get the codes pulled. autozone, advance, etc should be able to do this for free. also, see if anyone around you knows how to check the timing of the car (with a timing light), should fix your issue.

You can jump obd2 cars just like the obd1's. If the light is on and no code is saved, check the harness to make sure all the plugs are plugged into the sensors on the head. The only time I've ever had a code that the computer refused to store was in a situation like that.
